 Welcome to Lake Parsippany |
 Lake Parsippany |
Recreation For All Ages | PARSIPPANY
"The place to be, Parsippany”
The name, Parsippany, stems from a Lenapi Indian word, Parseponong, meaning "the place where the rivers run together." Parsippany-Troy Hills Township was incorporated in 1928. After incorporation, the rate of growth increased with the developments of residential communities such as Manor Lakes, Lake Hiawatha, Lake Parsippany, Lake Intervale, Glacier Hills and Sedgefield. Much of the current development began as summer communities, such as Mount Tabor, where a Methodist tent colony was replaced with summer cottages. Parsippany-Troy Hills covers 25 square miles and houses approximately 50,000 people. An extensive transportation network, including Routes I-80, I-287, I-280, US 46 and US 202 as well as State Highways 10 and 53 serves the community. With excellent access in the New York metropolitan area, Parsippany has become a major employment center for New Jersey. Land size (miles 2)

Making An Offer >Evaluating the First Offer
Your dining room table is the scene of high drama. Your home has been listed for sale for six weeks, and finally, the first offer has come in. You are meeting with the agents, and are very excited until they mention the price--it is a lot less than you expected.
Before you feel offended, however, remember that the first offer is often just the beginning of a negotiating process. Your agent can help you weigh the good and bad points, evaluating the price in relationship to the terms or conditions of the sale. Sometimes an offer with a low price can look quite attractive once you understand all of the terms. If you are willing to make some compromises, the buyers may accept a counter offer that will give you more money. A lower price from highly qualified buyers may be better than one from people who may have difficulties with financing. Keep in mind that your first negotiated price is often your best price!
